1. Log in to the game and select Multiplayer in the main menu.
2. Click Add Server and enter the IP address of the server you need. If you do not know the address of a specific server, you can find a list of available servers and their IP addresses on the Internet.

Using A LAN Server

In order to make a multiplayer Minecraft: Java world on a LAN server, first of all, you and your friends must make sure that you are connected to the same local network. Then follow these steps:

1. The player who will be the host starts the game and selects Single Player.
2. Then, they create a new world or start an already-created one.
3. After the game has loaded, the host must press Esc and then click Open to LAN.
4. Select the desired game mode, whether Survival or Creative.
5. Then, the host must click Start LAN World. If everything is done right, you will see the message “local game has been hosted.”
6. Now, the last thing remaining is to add friends on Minecraft: Java. They can join simply by selecting Multiplayer. They will be automatically loaded to the host if they are on the same local network.

Setting Up Your Own Dedicated Server

Personally, I’m all about Minecraft challenges which I can do with my buddies and original maps, so here are my top recommendations.

Race For Wool PvP

Get ready for an exciting resource gathering race! Players will be divided into two teams and compete on a map with two separate and identical tracks. The map is filled with cool obstacles and tricky traps, and players must search for special wool and race to bring it back to the Victory Monument. The winning team is the first to find all the hidden wool. This competition includes PvP, and teams can have fun getting creative by interfering with each other in different ways, like using long-range weapons or setting off traps.

Overthrow The Overlord

If you die on this map before you can fall asleep in a bed, you will not be able to return to the created island.

2. Create a mods folder in the Minecraft directory if it does not exist.
3. Download the Minecraft mod you would like to play with friends.
4. Modify the mod and run the game.
5. In Minecraft, select Play.
6. Select the Edit button next to the Realm you want to invite your friend to.
7. Select the Members button.
8.  If you are already friends with the person you want to invite, skip to the next step. If you are not already friends, select the Find Friends button. Enter your friend’s gamertag into the field and press Enter. Select the Add Friend button.
9. Select the Invite button next to your friend’s gamertag on your Friends list.
